While JazzHouse epitomises modern jazz, it still somehow manages to carry on the legacy left by the legendary Copenhagen jazz venues of the past such as the Montmartre club.
The club presents all kinds of jazz of today. It can be electronic, cool, funky neo-bebop, bass-heavy grooves, the Nordic sound, global beat or latin rhythms, free improvisational music - not to mention all the other musical forms that can be labelled jazz. JazzHouse presents world-famous international names as well as the best names and young talents from the Danish jazz scene.
Copenhagen JazzHouse was started in October 1991, and is owned by a members' association. It receives support from the Danish Ministry of Culture and the City of Copenhagen. JazzHouse presents 3-5 concerts a week, all year around. Seating capacity is 240.
