JazzTimes Magazine said it was “among the best of the best.” One fan called it, the “sweetest little festival in the United States.” The Litchfield Jazz Festival celebrates its 11th Birthday this year, and if such a thing were possible, it is better than ever. From year one, we have presented legends and those who became legends—from Ray Charles and Tito Puente to Diana Krall and Brad Mehldau. It’s a formula we continue to follow.
This year we proudly present the great Pat Metheny, Dr. John, James Moody, Lee Konitz, John Scofield, Dena DeRose and other outstanding players. As always we are happy to introduce talented young players—this year meet the extraordinary pianist Robert Glasper. And, as always, there’s a lot more. Three days of fabulous music, tasty food, art, crafts and performances by the amazing students of the Litchfield Jazz Camp. Don’t miss the opening night Friends of the Festival Party, and for VIP treatment all weekend, become a Best Friend of the Festival and support our talented scholarship campers.
