Smooth Jazz
http://www.smoothjazz.com

The world’s #1 on-line jazz destination is broadcasting on the Internet live from the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California. Smoothjazz.com HQ is in a 19th Century Victorian House, well over 100 years old and is located near downtown Pacific Grove just a few hundred yards from the Monterey Bay.

The Monterey Peninsula is well known for many things including world-class golf (Pebble Beach), robust, boutique wineries (Carmel Valley), the Monterey Bay Aquarium (Cannery Row) and most certainly Monterey has earned a solid reputation as a jazz town with the world’s oldest and possibly most well known jazz festival, the 50-year-old Monterey Jazz Festival.

Radio personality and concert promoter, Sandy Shore, founded Smoothjazz.com in 1995. Originally, the on-line destination was to be used for a ticket outlet for Sandy Shore Productions’ locally produced concert events. However, by the late 1990’s the Website had been transformed into a global presence for Smooth Jazz offering exciting information for both artists and fans alike. In the spring of 2000, Smoothjazz.com Radio was born, broadcasting in digital stereo through the services of Shoutcast.com. And in the summer of 2001, the Smoothjazz.com Top 50 Chart debuted and since, Smoothjazz.com has been publishing a weekly chart of the most played new music on smooth jazz radio with over 70 reporting stations.

Defining smooth jazz for a world of listeners by seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, r&b, pop, and world rhythms, Smoothjazz.com Radio streams a deep mix of music for a global audience. The station currently broadcasts an average of 4 million listener hours per month, while the site enjoys nearly 500,000 unique visitors on a monthly basis.
