The music industry is one of the few places where you will see
engineer and artist used in the same sentence. A studio
engineer can make the difference between okay and great. Admittedly
we have antique recordings of jazz masters that are treasures in spite
of the retched recording quality. In spite of hiss, buzz, and scratches
we count our lucky stars that we have anything from these past masters
of jazz. But, just imagine if we
could put those guys into a modern recording studio with a master studio
engineer at the board. Talk about sweet

Sound reenforcement at a concert is another place where an artist at the
board can make the difference. Those in the industry know who to ask for.
The rest of us could sure benefit from a simple list of where to go and
who to ask. Hopefully this is that list.
